Earlier this month, Amanda from A Beautiful Wedding In Florida reached out to me to photograph and elopement for one of her clients in a town just north of Tallahassee. The couple’s original wedding plans were paused and postponed due to COVID keeping their families from gathering in Chicago. They had trouble acquiring their marriage license in Tallahassee, due to delays at the clerk of courts from COVID, so they opted for a sweet elopement amongst the rose garden. I couldn’t think of a more quaint location near Tallahassee to photograph an elopement.

Liaht and Joseph were married on a perfect sunny Sunday morning in downtown Thomasville, GA. Every wedding is an honor to photograph, but being the only person present other than their officiant was the highest of honors. Being able to document this day, the beginning of their legacy, with only photos being able to tell the story alongside their words- these are the moments I value most.

2020 really opened out eyes as to what really matters with life, but especially with weddings. The fluff isn’t always needed. What you need is each other and a commitment to make it through good times and bad. And when you’re starting in the “bad” you can only go up from there.
